Homebody Pilates Policies

  • Grip socks are required for all classes. Grip socks are available for purchase at the studio for $16, or you are welcome to bring your own. Please avoid clothing with sharp objects such as zippers, as they can damage the upholstery of the reformers. Please avoid heavily fragranced perfumes, oils, and lotions.

  • Because there are a limited number of spots available, cancellations require 12 hour notice. Bookings may be canceled up to 12 hours before the class start time with no penalty. Cancellations within 12 hours of your booking will be considered a late cancellation and you forfeit the class credit. Students are responsible for managing their own bookings. Cancelations must be made through the online scheduling system.

  • Please arrive a few minutes before class, as instruction begins right at the class start time. For your first class, make sure to arrive at least 5 minutes early in order to get familiar with the reformer. For safety, new students are not permitted to join class late. For returning students, entry is not permitted more than five minutes after the class start time.

Please note that the 5 minute grace period is meant to accommodate occasional, unexpected circumstances. Missing the warm up poses a safety risk to you, and coming in late is disruptive to the flow and concentration of the entire class. If arriving after the class start time is a recurring pattern, please make sure you’re choosing classes that are appropriate for your schedule and commute.

  • You can be added to a class from the waitlist up to an hour before the class start time. If you get in off the waitlist, you will receive an email notifying you that you’ve been registered for the class. You can remove yourself from the waitlist anytime without penalty, but if you are added to the class the late cancel policy does apply. Please keep a close eye on your email if you are on a waitlist, and make sure to check your junk mail!

  • Classes, class packs, and memberships are non refundable and non transferable. Single drop in and class pack credits expire three months from the date of purchase.

  • By enrolling in a monthly membership, you authorize Homebody Pilates to automatically charge your credit or debit card on file on the same day of purchase every month until the membership is terminated. Monthly memberships are a two month commitment upfront. After two months, memberships may be canceled with 14 days written notice before the next billing cycle. Students are responsible for all scheduled monthly payments unless sufficient notice is given. Membership class credits do roll over month to month. When a membership is canceled, any remaining class credits expire one month after the last payment. Any class bookings made using credits from a future billing cycle will be automatically canceled.

If a membership payment fails due to insufficient funds or inaccurate billing information, you will be contacted via email and the membership payment will automatically retry up to eight times. If, after two weeks, the payment has not been completed, your membership will be terminated and all remaining class credits will expire immediately.

  • You are more than welcome to take pictures and videos of yourself and the studio!  Please just be mindful of other community members. Make sure not to film or photograph anyone else without their consent.

  • We prioritize a serene environment that encourages practitioners to get into a flow state. Please arrive a few minutes before the class start time, keep phones and watches on silent, and keep side conversations to a minimum.

  • When class is over, please grab a spray bottle and a cloth to wipe down your reformer. Put all the springs on, the footbar up, and the long box on top. Your participation in keeping the reformers and props clean and orderly is very much appreciated!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to class?

Grip socks are required for all classes. Make sure you bring a water bottle, and a small towel can be handy too!

What if I'm pregnant?

I’m so happy you ask! As long as you have medical clearance, pregnant people can be easily included in any class with just a few simple adjustments. Physical activity is safe and beneficial for people with uncomplicated pregnancies. I teach in accordance with the guidelines published by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

What if I have an injury?

As long as you have medical clearance to exercise, you’re good to go! Please let me know what your limitations are, and we will figure out any modifications you may need.

Do I have to be flexible to try Pilates?

Nope. Pilates is for anyone who wants to try it. End of story.

Which class should I book?

If this will be your first time on a reformer, Reformer Flow Level 1is your best bet.

If you have some Pilates experience and you’d like to work more on balance, coordination, and mobility (or if you love the jumpboard, stability ball, and magic circle), Form and Function is for you.

If long-term joint health, bone density, and functional strength is your main goal, Reformer Strength will get you there.

If you’re looking for a challenge and you’re curious about advanced reformer repertoire, try Reformer Flow Level 2. Generally, this class will offer the best experience to practitioners who are comfortable with the rowing series, the long stretch series, the short box series, short spine massage, and standing up on the reformer.

Finally, if you just want the most relaxing experience possible, Reformer Stretch is your new best friend.
